Meet Teresa Roche of Kylemore Farmhouse Cheese - 18/05/2023

Kylemore Farmhouse Cheese is a unique, premium, award-winning Irish farmhouse cheese produced directly on Teresa’s family farm at the foothills of the Slieve Aughty mountains in Co Galway.

Teresa is a qualified nurse who returned from overseas to start her business on the family farm. A fourth generation dairy farmer, Teresa’s family have been farming their land for over 200 years.

Teresa is passionate about empowering women in agriculture and creating jobs in rural Ireland.

Teresa’s dairy herd is composed of all pedigree Holstein Friesians and is considered a “closed herd.” This means no other cattle are brought in; they have all been born and bred on the farm. That closed herd produces Kylemore Farmhouse Cheese, a unique, premium Irish farmhouse cheese directly on the farm, a product and process the Roche family takes great pride in.
